Ask a number of people what a Chiropractor does and some may say, “they fix backs” or “they realign the bones of the body”, and yes these both may be true…but does a Chiropractor do more than simply fix backs and why do we aim to realign the bones in the body?

One way to explain the concept of Chiropractic Care is through the analogy of a safety pin.

The clasp of the safety pin represents your brain which generates nerve impulses to control and regulate your entire body, from your nose to your toes. As you move down the safety pin nerve impulses are sent down the spinal cord and out to every organ and tissue of your body.

So that your brain knows everything is working as designed, impulses are sent back up to the brain via the other side of the safety pin. This is the definition of true health, a balanced nervous system working in complete harmony with your brain.

Now imagine the safety pin unclasped and open. Many things can disrupt nerve impulses either to or from your brain. The moving bones of the spine are common culprits. When this happens, affected organs and tissues don’t function effectively and ill-health may result.

Chiropractic aims to locate and reduce these nervous system disturbances with safe and natural adjustments. With restored nervous system integrity, health can return and you can continue to go about each day with a healthier body and mind.
